Plasma-Based Home Theaters

Plasma based theaters are very popular for a number of reasons. The quality has improved while prices have dropped and they are, of course, able to mounted on the wall freeing up valuable floor space. While 42" and 50" plasmas are the most popular, larger sizes are available.

When comparing plasma displays to LCD displays you should know that plasmas tend to have better color accuracy, contrast, and handle motion better than LCD displays.

Plasmas are best suited for rooms where ambient light is reasonably controlled. Since plasmas have a reflective glass surface they are prone to glare and unwanted reflections during dark scenes in rooms that have a lot of ambient light.
